Oprah Winfrey Denies Receiving Payment for Kamala Harris Town Hall

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has dismissed claims that she was paid $1 million to host a town hall on behalf of Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.

“The reports are not true,” Winfrey stated. “I was paid nothing.”

The Washington Examiner had reported that Winfrey’s company, Harpo Productions, received the hefty fee for hosting the virtual event in September.

Oprah’s Political Support

Despite denying payment, Winfrey has been a vocal supporter of the Democratic Party, endorsing Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama in past elections.

At the Harris town hall, Winfrey appeared as a keynote speaker alongside celebrities such as Meryl Streep and Lady Gaga. However, their efforts were not enough to secure Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, for Harris.

Trump’s Electoral Victory

Donald Trump ultimately won the election with 312 electoral votes, and will be inaugurated in January.
