Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Sentenced to Prison for Parole Violations

Daniel Hernandez, the rapper known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, has been sentenced to 47 months in prison for violating his supervised release. Hernandez pleaded guilty to five violations, including traveling without permission and failing drug tests.

Federal prosecutors had requested a shorter sentence, but Judge Paul Engelmayer imposed a stricter punishment due to Hernandez’s repeated breaches of trust.

Hernandez, 28, expressed remorse but requested leniency. However, Engelmayer stated that Hernandez’s actions demonstrated a lack of respect for the law.

Background of Hernandez’s Case

In 2018, Hernandez was arrested and charged with racketeering and murder conspiracy in connection with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. He struck a plea deal that led to the conviction of several co-defendants and resulted in his early release from prison in 2020.

Hernandez has since released multiple albums and achieved international fame. Despite his success, his parole violations have landed him back in custody.
