Berry Wins Custody Ruling Against Martinez

Additional Coverage:

Halle Berry has prevailed in a custody battle with her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez.

The court ruled that Martinez failed to participate in coparenting therapy as agreed, despite having the means to do so via Zoom. Berry’s attorney attempted to arrange therapy sessions, but Martinez allegedly did not respond.

As a result of Martinez’s lack of participation, Berry’s legal fees were incurred unnecessarily. The court has ordered Martinez to pay a portion of these fees.

Berry and Martinez share custody of their son, Maceo. Berry is also responsible for Maceo’s school tuition, extracurricular activities, and health insurance.

Martinez has claimed that Berry is unwilling to contribute to his legal fees and that his limited work outside the US makes coparenting difficult. He has expressed concerns about Berry’s boyfriend, Van Hunt’s, involvement in Maceo’s life.

Martinez hopes to resolve the issues and work towards a path forward for Maceo’s well-being. A custody hearing is scheduled for December 12.
