Reward Offered for Arson Attacks on Ballot Boxes
Federal authorities are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect responsible for three arson incidents involving ballot boxes in Washington and Oregon.
Arson Devices Used
In all three cases, an “improvised incendiary device” was placed on the ballot drop boxes. The FBI believes the devices were handmade and may have been used by someone with metalwork or welding experience.
Suspect Vehicle and Description
The suspect vehicle, captured on surveillance video, is described as a dark-colored early 2003 to 2004 Volvo S-60 sedan. It has dark wheels, a light-colored interior, and no Volvo logo on the front grill. A fraudulent temporary Washington license plate was on the rear of the vehicle at the time of the incidents.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, with thinning hair.
Investigation Continues
The FBI is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities believe the markings on the incendiary devices may have been meant to manipulate existing divisions in the U.S.
