Country music star Sundance Head was shot on his ranch in Texas on Friday.
Head’s agent, Trey Newman, said the singer called 911 after the incident. Paramedics airlifted Head to a Tyler, Texas, hospital in stable condition.
Head’s wife, Misty, said paramedics told her the bullet hit her husband in the stomach. The agent said the bullet missed all of Head’s organs and lodged in a fatty area of his stomach.
The shooting is being considered an accident at this point.
Head appeared on “American Idol” in 2007 and made it to the semifinals. He won “The Voice” in 2016 with Blake Shelton as his coach.
