Vivek Ramaswamy, co-head of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has hinted at the possibility of eliminating entire federal agencies as part of a major government overhaul.
Ramaswamy, appointed alongside Elon Musk by President-elect Donald Trump, outlined plans to streamline government by cutting bloated agencies, reducing federal contracting, and eliminating redundant roles.
While specific agencies targeted for closure were not disclosed, Ramaswamy indicated that “certain agencies” would be abolished outright. Trump had previously vowed to dismantle the Department of Education, but Ramaswamy’s response was more general.
