Tragic Plane Crash Claims Life of Animal Rescuer

A beloved pilot, Seuk Kim, 49, perished in a plane crash in New York’s Catskill Mountains on Sunday. Kim was known for his selfless acts of transporting rescued dogs to shelters and care facilities.

First responders rushed to the crash site in Windham, where they discovered Kim’s body along with a deceased dog. Miraculously, a Labrador mix with broken legs was rescued and transported to a veterinary hospital. A third dog remains missing.

Authorities have identified the plane as a Mooney M20J, which was en route from Maryland to Albany, New York. Kim was flying on behalf of a nonprofit that utilizes volunteer pilots to relocate rescued animals.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash, while an autopsy will be conducted on Kim’s body. The weather conditions at the time of the incident included light rain and snow on the ground.
