Human Remains Found in Georgia Pond

Authorities have discovered human remains inside a vehicle submerged in a pond in Georgia. The vehicle matches the description of a car belonging to a couple who disappeared in 1980.

One human bone was found in the Lincoln Continental on Friday. The Glynn County Police Department believes the vehicle is similar to the one Charles and Catherine Romer were driving when they went missing.

The car was discovered in a pond near the Royal Inn Hotel. Police are working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on the case.

Charles Romer, 73, and his wife Catherine, 75, vanished in 1980 while returning home from Florida. They were traveling in their 1978 Lincoln Continental. Police have suspected foul play, as Catherine Romer was wearing valuable jewelry at the time.

The pond is currently being drained to search for additional remains. As of Monday night, no further updates were available.
