Fugitive Wanted for Murder of Ex-Girlfriend

The U.S. Marshals Service is urgently searching for Geovanni Otero, 29, known as “Gozer.” He is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, Melody Rivera, and burying her in Philadelphia.

Rivera’s body was found in the Fox Chase neighborhood, and her death has been ruled a homicide. Otero, a career criminal with a history dating back to age 12, is facing murder charges.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Otero’s arrest. He is considered dangerous and is believed to have fled the area.

The motive for the murder remains unclear, but police believe Otero had a dispute with Rivera before she disappeared on Halloween. Otero had recently been released from prison for a firearms offense and had stopped communicating with his parole officer.

Rivera’s family described her as a loving and kind person. They urged Otero to surrender, saying she did not deserve to be buried like she was.
