Country Singer Morgan Wallen Pleads Guilty
Morgan Wallen has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, stemming from an incident in April where he threw a chair from the roof of a Nashville bar.
Initially charged with three felonies, Wallen’s charges were reduced as part of a plea agreement. He will serve seven days in a DUI education center and two years of supervised probation.
Charges and Sentencing
Wallen was charged after police witnessed him throwing a chair from the roof of Chief’s bar, narrowly missing two officers. As part of the plea deal, he will also pay a fine and court fees.
If Wallen fulfills the terms of his probation, the charges could be dismissed and expunged from his record.
Reaction and Statement
Wallen’s attorney stated that he has cooperated with authorities and apologized to those involved. Wallen expressed regret for his behavior and plans to make amends through his music and foundation.
Despite the charges, Wallen was named Entertainer of the Year at the 58th Annual CMA Awards in November.
