Nevada Charges Republicans with False Election Documents
Six Republicans face charges in Nevada for signing false documents declaring Donald Trump the winner of the 2020 presidential election. The defendants allegedly submitted forged Electoral College votes despite Trump losing the state by over 30,000 votes.
Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford filed the charges after a judge dismissed an earlier indictment due to improper venue. Ford is appealing the ruling and filed the new indictment to prevent the statute of limitations from expiring.
Ford condemned the defendants’ actions as an attempt to undermine the election results. He stressed that such behavior violates Nevada law and cannot go unpunished.
The six defendants include Republican party leaders and party members. They face charges of “uttering a forged instrument.”
The charges are part of a broader investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Similar charges are being pursued in other states, including Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia.
