Ingrid Lewis-Martin, a top advisor to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, has resigned amid a federal investigation into corruption and bribery allegations against the mayor. Her phones have been confiscated, and her home has been searched.

In a statement, Lewis-Martin said she plans to spend more time with her family. She praised Adams for his support and friendship. Adams’ statement echoed Lewis-Martin’s sentiments, calling her a “sister” and a “trusted adviser.”

The announcement comes after Adams met with Tom Homan, the incoming border czar. Adams has taken a more aggressive stance on immigration following President-elect Trump’s victory.

Homan praised Adams for prioritizing public safety over politics. He said Adams wants to work with ICE to remove criminals and national security threats from the streets and find missing children.

Homan’s comments have sparked interest from other leaders across the aisle.
