Arrest of ‘Invisible’ British Drug Trafficker

Colombian authorities have apprehended a suspected British drug trafficker, Christopher Neil, who had been operating discreetly as a coordinator for the Gulf Clan cartel. Known as “invisible drug traffickers,” these individuals operate without the ostentatious lifestyle of past drug lords.

Neil was arrested in Medellin, accused of trafficking cocaine from Colombia to the United Kingdom. The arrest was the result of an operation involving local law enforcement and Interpol.

Neil, who had lived in Colombia since 2018, is wanted in the UK for trafficking and money laundering. His arrest was aided by information about a multi-million-dollar transaction between the two countries.

The arrest follows recent incidents of international drug trafficking arrests in Colombia, including the capture of a Naples mafia intermediary and a Norwegian known as “The Profesor.”

The Gulf Clan, which has faced significant setbacks, including the extradition of its leader, remains a major player in Colombia’s drug trade. The cartel has previously enforced stay-at-home orders in response to law enforcement actions.
