Pentagon Denies US Military Owns Downed Drones

Additional Coverage:

The Pentagon denies that the drones spotted over New Jersey and New York belong to the US military.

Pentagon spokesperson Maj. Gen.

Pat Ryder insists that the drones are likely hobbyist or recreational devices. Over a million drones are registered in the US, with an estimated 8,500 in flight at any given time.

While it’s possible some drones may engage in malicious activities, Ryder emphasizes that this is not the norm. The Pentagon remains vigilant in monitoring drones near military installations.

Ryder refuted rumors about large, black monoliths accompanying the drone sightings, referencing the science fiction film “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

The Department of Defense is enhancing its capabilities to detect, identify, and track drones at military installations, including Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Weapons Station Earle.

Non-kinetic counter-drone systems, such as Drone Busters, are being deployed to disrupt drone signals and prevent them from operating.
