Military Radar to Track Mystery Drones

Drone Detection Technology to Investigate Northeast Drone Sightings

Drone-hunting technology used in the Ukraine conflict may soon be deployed to investigate a series of mysterious drone sightings over New York, New Jersey, and other Northeast cities. New York officials have requested the deployment of the Robin Radar System to assist in identifying the operators behind these drones.

What is the Robin Radar System?

The Robin Radar System uses radar to detect and classify small moving objects, including drones. It can distinguish drones from manned aircraft, track their flight patterns, and beam data back to a laptop for a 360-degree view of the airspace.

Advantages of the Robin Radar System

The Robin Radar System is lightweight, mobile, and can be installed on police cruisers for on-the-move surveillance. It can also detect drones attempting to avoid detection by modifying their remote ID broadcast modules. However, it cannot determine if a drone is weaponized.

Deployed in Ukraine

The Robin Radar System has been used in Ukraine to locate incoming Russian drones. Ukrainian forces have shot down these drones, but law enforcement in the United States is prohibited from taking similar actions.

Public Hysteria

The FBI has received numerous tips about drone sightings but has not found any anomalous activity or national security risks. Experts believe the sightings may be due to a combination of lawful drone use, manned aircraft, and misidentified objects.

Investigation Continues

The FBI, DHS, and other agencies are continuing to investigate the drone sightings. The Robin Radar System may provide additional insights into the identity of the operators and the purpose of these drones.
