Mother of US Citizens Deported from Texas

Immigration officials have confirmed the deportation of Cristina Geraldyn Salazar-Hinojosa, the mother of two US-citizen twins. Salazar-Hinojosa was arrested along with her children and missed an immigration hearing while recovering from an emergency C-section.

The twins were born in September, and their father, Federico Arellano, is a US citizen. Salazar-Hinojosa was scheduled for an immigration hearing but was unable to attend due to the birth.

ICE officials stated that Salazar-Hinojosa entered the US illegally in June and was released under the Alternatives to Detention program. She failed to appear for an October hearing and was ordered deported.

Salazar-Hinojosa’s attorney claims that she missed the hearing due to doctors’ orders to recover at home. They allege that the family notified the court and was told the hearing would be rescheduled. However, they were later arrested when they showed up at a location to discuss their case.

The incident has sparked criticism of President Biden’s border policies. However, statistics show that Biden’s deportations are on track to surpass those of the Trump administration.

Despite constitutional guarantees of US citizenship for those born in the country, former President Trump advocated for ending this practice.
