Two Injured in Christmas Eve Subway Attack in New York City

Two people were stabbed in an attack at a subway station in New York City on Christmas Eve.

The victims, a 26-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, were found with knife wounds by responding officers. Both were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

A suspect, identified as Jason Sargeant, 28, was arrested at the scene and charged with several counts, including assault and reckless endangerment. He is currently in custody at a hospital.

The incident follows a string of violent incidents in New York City’s subway system, including a stabbing of two teenage girls last year at Grand Central Terminal and a fatal arson attack on Sunday.

The NYPD has faced criticism for its handling of the arson attack.
