A mother in Idaho saved her infant son from a raccoon attack inside their home. The mother heard a noise and discovered the raccoon attacking her baby. She fought off the animal and called authorities.
The infant sustained undisclosed injuries and was taken to a Salt Lake City hospital. A sheriff’s deputy killed the raccoon.
IDFG investigated the incident and found no other raccoons inside the home. Tests confirmed the raccoon was not rabid.
