Canadian Attacks Miami Airport Workers

A Canadian man, Cameron McDougall, was arrested at Miami International Airport after attacking multiple people. The incident occurred on December 28th at 6:40 a.m.

McDougall, 28, faces charges including battery on a police officer and battery on a person over 65. He had been involved in an in-flight disturbance the previous day, causing the plane to return to Miami.

According to the arrest affidavit, McDougall approached and attacked a victim, then assaulted another who tried to intervene. He continued attacking passengers and then entered the TSA screening area.

McDougall punched two TSA officers in the face. He was not under the influence of alcohol at the time, but it’s unknown if he was under the influence of drugs.

The TSA condemned the attack and stated that it will pursue independent enforcement actions against McDougall. The agency has signs posted at checkpoints warning that violence against employees will not be tolerated.
