A former wife of Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the perpetrator of the New Year’s attack in New Orleans, has spoken out. Tiera, who was married to Jabbar for five years before their divorce in 2016, described their marriage as abusive but declined to provide specific details.
Tiera expressed disbelief over Jabbar’s actions, stating that she had no idea he was capable of such violence. She last spoke to him two months ago when he contacted her about their lost son, who died in a miscarriage during their marriage.
Tiera noted that Jabbar had become religious since they were married and had an ISIS flag in his truck. She believes he was not acting alone in the attack.
Authorities have identified three other men and a woman suspected of planting explosives in the area, suggesting that Jabbar was part of a larger plot.
