A 7-year-old boy who went missing in northern Zimbabwe for five days was found alive in a vast game park known for its big cats and other wildlife.
After a frantic search, park rangers and locals spotted human footprints in the Matusadona National Park. They located the boy early on New Year’s Eve.
Remarkably, the boy had walked about 30 miles through lion-infested terrain, surviving on wild fruits and digging holes for water. He was reunited with his family and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The boy’s resilience was attributed to a technique he had learned in drought-prone areas: digging for water in dry riverbeds.
Lawmaker Mutsa Murombedzi praised the searchers and the community for their unwavering hope and effort. She highlighted the importance of unity and perseverance in such situations.
