- I worried about who would care for my child with significant medical needs. I gave her 3 siblings to help when I’m gone. (newsbreak.com)
As a first-time parent, I envisioned a modest family of two healthy children. However, life took an unexpected turn when my first daughter, Claire, was born with significant medical needs.
Claire’s challenges made me realize that she would need a large support system. I wanted her to have siblings who could help her navigate life’s hurdles. With this in mind, I welcomed three more children into our family.
Each child brings unique strengths to “Team Claire.” My eldest son is her loyal protector, while my second daughter dreams of becoming a doctor to care for those like her. My youngest son completes the family as a loving and protective sibling.
While raising four children is demanding, I know that Claire will always have a team by her side. Her siblings will provide love, support, and ensure her well-being even when we are no longer around. This knowledge gives me peace of mind and allows me to rest easier knowing that my daughter will be well cared for.
