Amit Yoran, the CEO of cybersecurity company Tenable, has passed away at the age of 54. Yoran died unexpectedly during his battle with cancer.
Tenable released a statement calling Yoran “a visionary leader and a pioneer in the cybersecurity industry.” He dedicated his life to making the digital world safer and transformed Tenable into a global leader in exposure management.
Before joining Tenable in 2016, Yoran held leadership positions at RSA and Netwitness. He also served as the founding director of the US Computer Emergency Readiness Team program at the Department of Homeland Security.
Yoran’s death came nearly a month after he began a leave of absence. Tenable CFO Steve Vintz and Tenable COO Mark Thurmond assumed his role, but the next CEO has not been named.
The company expressed its condolences to Yoran’s family and gratitude for his legacy.
