Aubrey Plaza to Present at Golden Globes Amidst Husband’s Tragic Passing
Aubrey Plaza, the 40-year-old actress, will attend the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5, as a presenter. However, her appearance comes amidst a personal tragedy.
One day after Plaza’s announcement as a presenter, her husband, Jeff Baena, was found dead by suicide in their Los Angeles residence.
Despite the heartbreaking news, Plaza’s name remains on the list of presenters. Her representatives have not yet responded to inquiries regarding her attendance.
Plaza and Baena, an indie screenwriter, had been together for nearly a decade before marrying in 2020. They collaborated on several projects, including “Life After Beth” and “Spin Me Round.”
Baena had praised Plaza’s talent and versatility, saying, “She’s insanely talented and I’m very lucky to have her in my life.”
The Golden Globes will air live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. It remains to be seen whether Plaza will address Baena’s passing during her appearance.
