Deadly Wildfires Prompt Evacuations in Los Angeles
Over 153,000 people in Los Angeles County have been ordered to evacuate due to a devastating wildfire outbreak. Another 166,000 residents are under evacuation warnings. The fires have ravaged 38,000 acres, including the Palisades Fire, which is the most destructive in the city’s history.
Forecasters warn that strong winds will further worsen conditions. Structures at risk total 57,000.
Resident Experiences
Alana Alejo, an Encino resident, evacuated her home before an order was issued, after seeing ashes in the air. She left with her valuables, a pet hamster, and emergency supplies.
“It’s hard to see this happen,” she said. “I have friends who have lost their homes.”
Evacuation Orders and Warnings
Evacuation orders are in place for areas in Los Angeles County south of Pacific Coast Highway, north of the Encino Reservoir, east of the 405 Freeway, and west of Mandeville Canyon.

Other Fire Updates
Evacuation orders for the Eaton Fire near Altadena and Pasadena remain in effect. Orders and warnings for the Hurst and Kenneth Fires have been lifted.
