In her new memoir, actress Brooke Shields reveals that she and her ex-husband, tennis star Andre Agassi, never had children together.
Shields writes that Agassi made it clear during their divorce that he would not have made things easy for her if they had kids.
She recalls Agassi telling her, “I would not have made this easy for you.” Shields found his comment ironic, as it made their separation easier.
Shields also reflects on her marriage to Agassi as controlling and rigid. She remembers asking him if he would still love her if she were overweight and pregnant.
Agassi’s response, according to Shields, was, “I love you too much to let you get big and fat!”
Shields later met and married Chris Henchy, with whom she has two daughters. She believes not having children with Agassi was ultimately a blessing in disguise.
