Walken Reveals Tech-Free Life

Additional Coverage:

Eighty-one-year-old actor Christopher Walken admits he’s not a tech guy. In a recent interview, he revealed he doesn’t own a cell phone and has never sent an email or used Twitter.

He even watched his own show, “Severance,” on DVDs provided by the production team because he doesn’t have internet access. Walken says he relies on others for the time or to borrow a phone when needed.

He recounted a 2010 theater experience where audience members’ phones rang and recorded his performance. This incident solidified his aversion to technology.

Walken has spoken about his tech-free lifestyle before. He’s not against technology, but feels he missed the boat on its adoption. He believes any youngster would be more adept at using it than him.

He’s not alone in his tech preferences. Other celebrities have also shared their limited technology use.

This sparks a larger conversation about screen time and its potential negative effects. Research suggests excessive screen time can impact concentration and memory, even in adults. Some studies also link it to cognitive, behavioral, and emotional issues in younger people.
