Caroline Kennedy has publicly denounced her cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President Trump’s nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary. In a video message, Kennedy called RFK Jr. a “predator.”
Kennedy, the only surviving child of President John F. Kennedy, stated she’s known her cousin her entire life. She read aloud a letter she sent to senators, claiming RFK Jr. “misrepresents, lies and cheats his way through life.”
She accused him of encouraging family members to use drugs, leading to addiction and even death. Kennedy also criticized RFK Jr.’s stance on vaccines, alleging he vaccinated his own children while publicly discouraging others from doing so.
Kennedy questioned her cousin’s qualifications for the position, citing his lack of government, financial, and medical experience. She called his views on vaccines “dangerous and willfully misinformed.”
Kennedy’s son shared the video on social media. The video’s release comes just before RFK Jr.’s scheduled confirmation hearing.
RFK Jr. has admitted to personal shortcomings in the past. A group of Nobel laureates has also voiced opposition to his nomination, citing concerns for public health.
