- Meta workers are quietly rebelling against Mark Zuckerberg after he eliminated DEI initiatives by bringing their own tampons to men’s bathrooms (newsbreak.com)
Local Meta employees are reportedly protesting CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s recent company changes, including the removal of feminine hygiene products from men’s restrooms. Workers are reportedly bringing their own tampons into the men’s rooms and circulating a petition to have the company-provided products reinstated.
Zuckerberg’s recent actions, including attending Trump’s second inauguration and subsequent company policy changes, have sparked internal dissent. These changes include eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, ending fact-checking in favor of community notes, and appointing Dana White to the board and Joel Kaplan to lead global policy. Zuckerberg also appeared on a podcast where he stated that corporate America needed more “masculine energy.”
This employee pushback extends beyond Meta. A Google employee, reportedly instructed by CEO Sundar Pichai to create an inauguration animation, allegedly embedded a message within the code expressing their disapproval.
Both Meta and Google donated one million dollars to the inaugural fund. However, other companies, including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Costco, Salesforce, Apple, and Microsoft, continue to support their diversity programs.
