Pasadena, CA – Singer-songwriter Jelly Roll held a free concert at the Rose Bowl Saturday night to honor the Los Angeles first responders who battled last month’s wildfires. The event, billed as “Jelly Roll & Friends,” featured some big names in music.
Country star Lainey Wilson joined Jelly Roll on stage for several songs. He even predicted she would win her second Grammy the following night for Best Country Album, for which her album “Whirlwind” was nominated. Wilson responded that she hoped he was right, and that she couldn’t imagine being anywhere else that night.
Later in the evening, DJ Marshmello took the stage, energizing the crowd and encouraging them to light up the Rose Bowl with their phones.
The concert was a heartfelt thank you from Jelly Roll, offered completely free of charge to the first responders. This show followed his appearance at Thursday night’s FireAid benefit concert, which also supported wildfire relief efforts.
Adding a surprise element to the evening, rapper Flavor Flav took a moment to deliver a message of love and unity, encouraging respect across different races and cultures.
The “Jelly Roll & Friends” concert was a resounding success, showcasing not only Jelly Roll’s musical talent, but also his generosity and appreciation for the local heroes.
