“The View” is experiencing another on-air shift, and this time, it’s not Whoopi Goldberg who’s missing. Joy Behar, a familiar face on the daytime talk show, has been absent since the last week of January.
While Whoopi recently returned from an extended break, Joy has been missing from her regular spot. Her absence has been long enough that Star Jones, an original co-host of “The View,” has stepped in as a temporary replacement.
Whoopi Goldberg introduced Jones to the audience, acknowledging Joy’s absence and highlighting Jones’s return as a welcome surprise. The audience, however, expressed their disappointment at not seeing Joy.
Joy had been filling in for Whoopi during her time off and even took on additional responsibilities, like moderating the weekend edition of the show. This heavy workload, coupled with her upcoming Off-Broadway play, “My First Ex-Husband,” might explain her absence.
It’s unclear when Joy will return to her regular duties on “The View,” but fans are hoping to see her back soon.
Meanwhile, Star Jones used her appearance on the show to raise awareness for heart health. Wearing a red dress, she discussed her own open-heart surgery 14 years ago and encouraged viewers to support the American Heart Association. While viewers were happy to see a familiar face, they still missed Joy and wished her a speedy return.
