Local man, Ryan Belz of Millerton, Pennsylvania, made “Price is Right” history, setting a new Plinko record. His ecstatic celebration quickly went viral.
Belz’s journey to the record books began with correctly guessing the price of a camera, earning him a spot on stage with host Drew Carey. His energy was infectious from the start, running around the stage in excitement.
The game was Plinko, where contestants win chips by guessing prices. These chips are dropped down a pegged board, landing in slots worth varying amounts, from zero to $10,000.
Belz started with a free chip from Carey and earned four more. His goal? Land all five in the $10,000 slot for a total of $50,000.
His first chip landed right in the $10,000 slot. The second earned him $1,000. Astonishingly, his third chip also landed in the $10,000 slot, bringing his total to $21,000.
With two chips left, Belz was already ecstatic. The fourth chip landed in the $500 slot. Then, unbelievably, his fifth chip landed in the $10,000 slot again, for a record-breaking total of $31,500.
Belz erupted in celebration, jumping, screaming, and hugging Carey and the models. Carey announced Belz’s new Plinko record.
Following his win, Belz, a self-proclaimed Plinko enthusiast, was interviewed, stating that appearing on the show was a childhood dream come true.
