Torres Returns to Juvenile Center Undercover on Chicago P.D.

Additional Coverage:

Chicago P.D.’s latest episode featured Officer Dante Torres going undercover at a juvenile detention center, a place he knew all too well from his youth. This personal connection made him the perfect choice for the job.

The episode also introduced a new character, Warden Jay Scott, played by Delaney Williams. Williams is a familiar face to TV audiences, with previous roles on shows like “The Wire.”

This episode focused on Torres. It began with a routine call that quickly turned grim when Torres discovered the body of a young teen. The boy was supposed to be in juvenile detention, raising immediate red flags.

To investigate, Torres went undercover as a guard at the detention center. Being back in that environment brought back difficult memories, adding an emotional layer to the investigation.

Inside, Torres uncovered a pattern of abuse happening in the basement, orchestrated by one of the guards. The warden appeared suspicious, but it turned out he was unaware of the horrific acts.

One of the abused teens managed to escape but later died from his injuries. This was the same teen Torres found at the beginning of the episode. The investigation culminated in a tense confrontation where Torres was forced to shoot and kill the abusive guard.

The episode offered a deep dive into Torres’s character and introduced a compelling new face to the show. Elsewhere in the One Chicago universe, upcoming storylines tease a wedding on Chicago P.D. and a new character played by CCH Pounder on Chicago Med.
