Whataburger has a rich history, dating back to 1950. The founder’s dream was simple: create the best burger every single time. That commitment to freshness continues today.
Another reason for Whataburger’s popularity? It’s open 24/7, satisfying those late-night cravings.
The menu is extensive, featuring everything from classic burgers to specialty creations with jalapeños, avocado, and even triple patties. Chicken sandwiches, salads, and a robust breakfast menu round out the offerings.
Currently, over 900 Whataburger restaurants operate in 14 states, employing more than 50,000 people.
Recent openings include Mesa, Arizona, and Clarksville, Arkansas. Colorado welcomed a new location in Monument in 2024, with another planned for Pueblo in 2025.
Florida boasts 45 Whataburgers, with another planned for Tampa in 2026. Georgia recently celebrated a new Atlanta restaurant, and the company aims to have 50 locations in the state by 2030. Targeted towns include Alpharetta, Duluth, Roswell, and several others.

North Carolina anticipates seven new Whataburgers, with Charlotte, Greensboro, Fayetteville, and Raleigh on the list. South Carolina recently added locations in Boiling Springs, Spartanburg, and Greenville, with more planned for Mauldin, Irmo, and other towns.
Texas, Whataburger’s home state, will see new restaurants in New Braunfels and Fulshear.
