Diddy Sues NBC Over Documentary Claims

Local music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal, Peacock TV, and Ample Entertainment. The lawsuit centers around the documentary “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy,” which aired on Peacock.

Combs alleges the documentary makes several false and defamatory claims, including accusations of sexual assault of minors and involvement in the deaths of several individuals close to him. He asserts these claims are completely unfounded and based on anonymous sources and speculation.

The lawsuit specifically denies any connection to the deaths of longtime partner Kimberly Porter, rapper Biggie Smalls, music executive Andre Harrell, and rapper Heavy D. Combs emphasizes Porter’s death was ruled as natural causes by the Los Angeles County Coroner and there is no evidence linking him to the others’ deaths.

Combs also refutes claims of sexual assault, stating they originate from a discredited lawsuit and are based on false statements. He accuses the defendants of prioritizing profit over journalistic integrity and exploiting the audience’s trust.

Combs is currently awaiting trial on unrelated federal charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, to which he has pleaded not guilty. This new lawsuit focuses solely on the alleged defamation in the documentary.
