Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson made a rare public appearance at the 50th anniversary special of Saturday Night Live. The reclusive actor, now in his eighties, has been seen very little since retiring from acting.
Nicholson, a three-time Oscar winner and longtime Lakers fan, was a surprise guest at the star-studded event. He even introduced a musical performance.
Interestingly, despite his long and celebrated career, Nicholson never hosted SNL. He expressed regret about this during the show’s 40th anniversary special.
Sporting a Yankees beret, Nicholson introduced his Anger Management co-star, Adam Sandler. Sandler, an SNL alum, returned to Studio 8H for the special.
Sandler, with acoustic guitar in hand, performed a touching original song titled “50 Years.” The ballad celebrated the show’s impact and poked fun at creator Lorne Michaels.
The song highlighted memorable sketches, inside jokes, and paid tribute to departed SNL greats like Norm Macdonald, Phil Hartman, and Chris Farley.
