Beyoncé Ticket Prices Anger Fans

Additional Coverage:

Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” album, released in 2024, won Album of the Year and Best Country Album at this year’s Grammy Awards. The 43-year-old singer announced her “Cowboy Carter Tour” on Instagram shortly after the awards ceremony.

Tour dates and venues were revealed the next day, and tickets went on sale on Valentine’s Day. Fans quickly took to social media to express outrage over what they considered exorbitant prices.

Some fans complained about paying hundreds of dollars for less desirable seats. Others criticized both Beyoncé and Ticketmaster for what they perceived as price gouging. Several social media users called out resellers for inflating prices even further.

Beyoncé has not publicly responded to the criticism. The “Cowboy Carter Tour” will be her fifth all-stadium tour and kicks off in Inglewood, California, on April 28th, concluding in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 13th.

Last year, Beyoncé’s “Renaissance World Tour” set a record for the highest-grossing tour by a Black artist.

Ticketmaster handled ticket sales for the “Cowboy Carter Tour,” and their website crashed due to high demand. Several presales were offered to various fan groups and cardholders.

Due to overwhelming demand, seven additional shows were added in several cities. These additional dates led to Beyoncé breaking records for the most shows performed at SoFi Stadium and MetLife Stadium.

The high demand was evident internationally as well. All three Paris shows sold out rapidly, and millions of fans in the UK were reportedly unable to secure tickets.
