Vancouver – Meghan Markle publicly praised her husband, Prince Harry, after he received a standing ovation at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Invictus Games. The Duchess of Sussex shared a video on Instagram Stories with the caption “So proud of you! đź‘Ź” showing the Duke of Sussex amidst applause at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
Although the video suggested Meghan’s presence, she had previously announced her early departure from Canada to care for their children, Archie and Lilibet. Thousands attended the closing ceremony, where Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also participated.
During the ceremony, Prince Harry delivered a moving speech acknowledging the challenging journeys of the Invictus Games participants. He commended them for their resilience and the positive impact they have on others. He also reportedly encouraged the audience to sit down during their enthusiastic standing ovation.
The closing ceremony included performances by Jelly Roll and The War and Treaty. The nine-day sporting event, founded by Prince Harry, was held across Vancouver and Whistler.
Meghan showed her support throughout the Games, notably wearing a gold signet ring, reportedly an anniversary gift from Prince Harry. The ring features the couple’s royal monogram. The Invictus Games, established in 2014, supports wounded and injured service members.
