Whoopi Goldberg, known for her straightforward demeanor on “The View,” is returning to the Oscars as a presenter. The Oscar-winning actress and Hollywood veteran will bring her comedic flair to the March ceremony.

This marks Goldberg’s return to the Oscars after a ten-year absence. Interestingly, her return coincides with her “Ghost” co-star Demi Moore’s Best Actress nomination for “The Substance.”

Fans celebrated the news on social media, praising Goldberg on The View’s official Instagram account. Many expressed their excitement, calling her an “icon” and declaring her the perfect choice for the role.

Goldberg won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 1991 for her role in “Ghost.” She was previously nominated for Best Actress in 1985 for “The Color Purple.”

During her 1991 acceptance speech, Goldberg spoke about the significance of the Academy Awards to her. She shared her childhood dream of becoming an actress and expressed her pride in her profession.

Earlier this month, Goldberg had an on-air disagreement with “The View’s” executive producer, Brian Teta. The disagreement stemmed from a discussion about Donald Trump’s comments regarding the 2020 election.

The hosts were discussing the vice presidential debate and a clip of candidate JD Vance. Co-host Sunny Hostin then read a legal note stating Trump denied any wrongdoing related to the election.

Goldberg questioned the note, expressing her confusion to Teta. Teta suggested they discuss the matter off-air, but Goldberg continued to voice her concerns about the statement’s accuracy.
