Tesla Recalls Over 375,000 Vehicles Due to Steering Defect
Local News – Tesla is recalling over 375,000 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles from the 2023 model year. A software glitch could cause the electronic power steering assist to malfunction. This could lead to a loss of steering control, especially when accelerating after a stop.
The recall affects Model 3 and Model Y vehicles manufactured between February 24 and October 11, 2023, running software older than version 2023.38.4. Tesla claims its system prevents complete steering loss while the vehicle is moving.
While Tesla says no crashes or injuries have been reported, the company is taking proactive steps to address the issue. A software update has been released to fix the problem.
Tesla dealerships and service centers have been notified. Owners can expect to receive official recall notices by March 25. Concerned owners can contact Tesla at 877-798-3752.
This recall comes on the heels of a viral video showing a Cybertruck struggling in snowy conditions. The video, reportedly filmed in Montreal, shows the electric truck repeatedly losing traction while other vehicles easily navigate the same area. This incident has fueled further online discussion and jokes about the Cybertruck’s design and performance.
