Starbucks Cuts 13 Drinks From Menu

Additional Coverage:

Local Starbucks stores will see some big changes starting March 4th. The coffee giant is cutting 13 drinks from its menu, including nine Frappuccino flavors. This is the first step in a larger plan to streamline the menu by 30% by September.

Starbucks says the goal is to focus on its most popular drinks and improve efficiency. The company says this will also allow baristas to make drinks faster and with more consistency, as well as make room for new seasonal offerings.

Among the discontinued drinks are the Iced Matcha Lemonade, Espresso Frappuccino, and several other Frappuccino varieties, both coffee-based and crème-based. The White Hot Chocolate, Royal English Breakfast Latte, and Honey Almondmilk Flat White are also being removed.

These menu changes come as Starbucks undergoes a significant restructuring. This week, the company announced it will lay off 1,100 corporate employees.

CEO Brian Niccol stated the layoffs are intended to simplify the company’s structure, reduce redundancy, and improve efficiency. The layoffs will not affect employees in Starbucks stores.
