Whoopi Goldberg Returns to The View, But Not Fully Recovered

Additional Coverage:

Whoopi Goldberg is back on “The View” after a nasty bout with the flu. She was noticeably still under the weather, coughing as she spoke.

Goldberg’s return comes just in time for a quick presenting gig at the upcoming Oscars. She revealed her role on “The View,” but worried that lingering effects from the flu might interfere. She apparently caught the bug at the recent “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special.

Goldberg described her ordeal, saying everything hurt – her bones, her head, everything. She even got a flu shot, but it didn’t prevent her from getting sick.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin was also out sick, possibly with the same flu. Goldberg mentioned Griffin’s absence on the show. Griffin shared a photo of herself at home with her pets on social media.

It seems this year’s flu season is hitting hard. Both Goldberg and Griffin’s illnesses follow reports of Steve Martin and other SNL stars testing positive for COVID-19 after the anniversary show. This raises concerns about a possible “COVID curse” connected to the event.
