Billy Joel’s Onstage Tumble Worries Fans

Additional Coverage:

Singer Billy Joel, 74, took a tumble during his February 22nd concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. While performing his hit “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,” Joel twirled his microphone stand, lost his balance, and fell backwards onto the stage.

Video of the incident circulated online, sparking concern among fans. Some audience members reported that Joel appeared frail and was using the microphone stand for support even before the fall.

One concertgoer recounted a collective gasp from the audience when Joel hit the floor. Despite the fall, Joel finished the show.

On social media, reactions ranged from concern to lighthearted reassurance. One fan commented that a fall onstage wasn’t the worst thing that could happen, while others expressed worry about Joel’s health.

The incident comes on the heels of a cancelled January performance due to a medical procedure, later rescheduled. While Joel has not disclosed the nature of the recent procedure, he has previously discussed undergoing hip replacement and back surgery.

Joel’s representatives have not yet commented on the incident.
