Vegas, Baby! Solo Style: A Local’s Guide to Sin City
I’ve been a frequent flyer to Las Vegas for over 25 years, and let me tell you, it’s always a blast. Whether I’m painting the town red with my husband and friends or exploring solo, Vegas never disappoints.
There’s something extra special about experiencing this city on your own terms. Here’s how I maximize my solo Vegas adventures:
Step One: Embrace the Strip Stroll
Forget rideshares – I love pounding the pavement on the Las Vegas Strip. It’s the perfect way to soak in the dazzling lights, do some serious people-watching, and burn off those extra calories from indulging in the city’s incredible food scene. Plus, it’s a welcome escape from the windowless casinos where time seems to stand still.
Step Two: Brunch with a View
The Bellagio Fountains are a must-see, and I’ve found the best way to enjoy them is with a delicious brunch. Recently, I had an unforgettable experience at Lago, savoring a caviar-topped bagel and an espresso martini that tasted like a decadent milkshake. Other fantastic options include Spago and Yellowtail.
Step Three: Spa Day Bliss
A spa day is the ultimate Vegas indulgence, especially when flying solo. It’s the perfect antidote to the sensory overload of the casinos and a great way to unwind after a busy day.
My last visit included a life-changing massage at the Four Seasons spa, followed by a cozy cup of tea under a faux-chinchilla blanket. Pure heaven!
Step Four: Cocktails and Crystals
When I’m feeling lucky, I head to the Chandelier bar at the Cosmopolitan for some video poker and glamorous cocktails. This three-story bar, adorned with over two million crystals, is a sight to behold. Their handcrafted drinks are equally impressive – I recently enjoyed a unique carbonated concoction with turmeric, orgeat, and sherry.
Step Five: Retail Therapy
Shopping in Vegas is a thrill, especially when browsing solo. From high-end malls like Crystals and the Bellagio shops to the more budget-friendly Forum Shops at Caesars Palace and Miracle Mile Shops, there’s something for everyone. Plus, the ability to stroll through the shops with a cocktail in hand definitely adds to the experience!
