Joy Behar Gets Schooled by Co-Hosts on *The View*

Additional Coverage:

Joy Behar’s recent stint filling in for Whoopi Goldberg on The View has generated some buzz, not all of it positive. While Goldberg was out with the flu after attending Saturday Night Live‘s 50th Anniversary special, Behar took the moderator’s seat, a role she frequently fills.

However, during a recent episode with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Behar found herself in hot water with her co-hosts after a rather awkward exchange.

Following a segment discussing a money-related feud on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Behar turned to Governor Pritzker and, referencing his billionaire status, asked point-blank about his wealth. Co-hosts Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin were quick to reprimand Behar for the invasive question, with Griffin exclaiming, “We don’t talk about money!”

Haines echoed the sentiment, asking, “Should we all talk about what we make?” Governor Pritzker, seemingly unfazed, noted that he’s frequently asked about his finances and the conversation moved on.

In other Behar news, the comedian recently wrapped up her run in the play My First Ex-Husband. Behar appeared in the first of the three-part production.

Susan Lucci, Judy Gold, Cathy Moriarity, and Tonya Pinkins are now taking the stage for the second segment. Behar’s involvement in the play previously caused her to be occasionally absent from The View, as she and Goldberg alternated time off.

The View airs weekdays on ABC.
