Tragedy struck aboard the ‘80s Cruise as the fiancée of Faster Pussycat frontman Taime Downe reportedly went overboard just one day into the voyage.
Kimberly Burch was traveling with the band, who were performing on the cruise. According to Ms.
Burch’s mother, Carnell, she received a call from Downe informing her of the devastating news. The alleged incident occurred approximately 20 miles off the coast of the Bahamas.
A search and rescue effort involving the U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force was launched, but sadly, Ms.
Burch’s body has not been recovered.
Carnell Burch told reporters that while her daughter had been drinking on the cruise, this was unusual behavior. She also stated that Ms. Burch had not exhibited any signs of emotional distress leading up to the trip.
A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean, the cruise line operating the ship, released a statement confirming the search and rescue efforts and offering support to the family, but declined to provide further details out of respect for their privacy.
Downe’s last Instagram post featuring Burch was on February 15, showing the smiling couple together. Fans have flooded the post with condolences and messages of support for the grieving musician.
