Vatican City — Pope Francis continues to show improvement in his recovery from pneumonia, according to the latest Vatican update. The 86-year-old pontiff remains hospitalized but is now on his 21st day of recovery.

The Vatican reports his condition as stable, with no further episodes of respiratory distress. He is actively engaging in respiratory and motor physiotherapy, showing positive responses.

His vital signs and bloodwork remain stable, and he has not experienced any fever. While doctors remain cautiously optimistic, they are still maintaining a reserved prognosis.

The Vatican has stated that due to the Pope’s stable condition, the next medical update won’t be released until Saturday.

Despite his illness, Pope Francis has maintained a light work schedule, balancing his duties with rest and prayer. He received Holy Communion before lunch and dedicated time to his work both in the morning and afternoon. Wednesday saw the Pope spending time in an armchair, participating in Ash Wednesday rituals, and even calling Father Gabriel Romanelli, a parish priest in Gaza.

The Pope was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on February 14th after being diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia.
