Meghan Markle’s “With Love, Meghan” Netflix Series: Warm Reviews from Crew, Cool Reception from Viewers

Meghan Markle’s lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan,” has debuted on Netflix to mixed reviews. While critics haven’t been kind, the production crew had nothing but praise for the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry.

Sources close to production described Prince Harry as a “super polite and friendly” presence on set, clearly focused on supporting his wife’s project. Meghan was lauded as “warm,” “approachable,” and “genuine,” ensuring everyone on set, from Netflix executives to production assistants, felt included.

She was also described as a doting mother to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who were occasionally present during filming.

Prince Harry himself makes only a brief appearance in the final episode’s last ten minutes, attending a garden brunch hosted by Meghan.

While the series has been renewed for a second season, its viewership numbers haven’t matched the success of the couple’s 2022 docuseries, “Harry & Meghan.” “With Love, Meghan” attracted 526,000 households (including live viewership and five days of streaming), compared to “Harry & Meghan’s” 2.1 million households in just three days. The show quickly dropped out of the top ten most-watched lists in the US and UK but found a surprising audience in the Baltic states.

Despite the second season renewal, some reports suggest Netflix executives are concerned about the negative critical response, and that the renewal doesn’t necessarily indicate an extension of the Sussexes’ overall Netflix deal. One source even suggested that both seasons were filmed concurrently, allowing for adjustments based on viewer feedback.
