Vanna White’s decades-long run on “Wheel of Fortune” is a testament to her enduring popularity. A recently resurfaced clip from a 1985 “Good Morning America” interview shows a young White predicting her long tenure on the game show.

When asked about her aspirations, she replied, “I’m going to be with ‘Wheel of Fortune’ as long as it’s on.” Fast forward to present day, and White, now a household name, is still gracing the “Wheel” stage alongside new host Ryan Seacrest.

In a recent “Good Morning America” appearance, White reacted to the unearthed clip with a cheerful, “And I’m still here!” She also demonstrated the game show’s technological advancements, highlighting the new laser-powered letter board.

“I don’t even have to touch the letter anymore,” she explained. “There are lasers up there.

So, when I go to touch the letter, it catches the movement of my hand, so it lights up.”

White, who works just 34 days a year for a substantial salary, has no plans to retire. “Fortunately, I’m healthy, I’m active, and I can still walk in those six-inch heels, and I still wear those dresses,” she stated in a recent interview. She also shared a fun fact: in over 8,000 episodes, she’s never worn the same dress twice.

Despite her remarkable run, White has expressed some concern about her future with the show, acknowledging the producers’ view that she is replaceable. Nevertheless, she recently renewed her contract through 2026, securing a significant raise in the process.
