San Francisco Shaken by Late Night Quake

A “very heavy” earthquake jolted San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area on Monday night just after 7:45 p.m. local time. The epicenter was near Dublin, according to the USGS. While the quake startled many residents, some even being jolted awake, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage.

Social media lit up with reactions shortly after the tremor. One X user exclaimed, “Oh that was strong earthquake.

Andreas is waking up!” Others shared their experiences, ranging from humorous quips about unexpected high-rise adventures to simple confirmations of the shaking.

Courtney Boyle posted on X, “Can check ‘earthquake while on the 16th floor of a building’ off of my list of things I didn’t want to experience. Thank you, San Francisco.”

Another user, Raymond Stone, succinctly stated, “If you are in San Francisco or elsewhere in the Bay Area, yes, that was an earthquake.”
